The story

Steal back the crown and overthrow Jafar!

Having reforged the broken Hexwell Crown, a Jafar glimmer has transformed into the formidable Supreme Sorcerer of Lorcana. It's now up to you to sneak into his stronghold and snatch the Reforged Crown before he becomes all-powerful.

Whether you face off against Jafar alone or with a friend, this adventure will surely be a (sand) blast.

In this game of keep-away, you’ll have to navigate through the traps and obstacles Jafar’s set up through the palace. From the dangerous Ink Moat to an Endless Staircase, you’ll need to be on constant alert.

Whether you go after the Crown on your own or teamed up with a friend, the two player decks are designed with characters, items, and more, that will help you on your quest. Choose from our four battlegrounds to set the difficulty level thats right for you.

Illumineer's Quest: Palace Heist is the second "Illumineer's Quest" product, the co-op Disney Lorcana format, where you team up with up to three friends to beat a boss deck (Jafar). Yes, 1 to 4-player PvE co-op!

The first change that immediately catches the eyes is that the product comes in a standard cardboard board game box, which is a great improvement to the Deep Trouble packaging.

The product comes with two pre-made decks with "normal" cards of sets 5 to 8 (year 2), but they don't contain any new "normal" cards. A sweet addition is that these decks come with a deck box each. They're a (tight) fit for 60 sleeved cards. See the decklists below. The Amber-Steel deck contains two special swirly-sand foils: Bolt - Superdog and Goofy - Groundbreaking Chef. The Amethyst-Sapphire deck's theme is Anna and Elsa, and it contains a special swirly-sand foil Elsa - Ice Maker and Pinocchio - Strings Attached.

The 50 card Jafar Scenario Deck (which also comes with a deck box - same size as the others - with fitting art) contains new cards with the Scenario rarity icon and a red Jafar-styled layout:

21 Characters, introducing the new character class Colossus.
7 Actions (no songs).
3 Items.
8 Locations, introducing the new location type Obstacle (which have a special rule for this product), and the first two Locations with Ward.

These Scenario cards are not playable/legal in "normal" games. These cards are intended to stay together in the Palace Heist scenario deck, so we won't be analyzing them for "regular" play. Just keep the Palace Heist gameplay package (without the two "normal" decks) together so you can take it out when you're in for a teaming up with your friends for a change! The box is big enough to also include Illumineer's Quest: Deep Troube gameplay package by the way.

On top of that, you'll get the following things you'll want to keep in your Palace Heist package:

1 oversized Jafar- Supreme Sorcerer of Lorcana "boss" card,
2 oversized, double-sided battleground cards (you can find those in the official app's lore counter), setting the difficulty of your game and providing battleground abilities.
1 Reforged Crown oversized thick cardboard token,
1 Palace Heist playmat, which helps you to play Jafar's turns (now in cardboard!),
the Palace Heist booklet, which contains the custom rules for this product.

The product also comes with:

several cardboard tokens and counters (as in the starter decks - but in thicker cardboard), and
1 secret victory card in a special wrapper (no spoilers here, but it's a "normal" alternate art swirly-sand foil Disney Lorcana card of the set Reign of Jafar, wrapping up the story of year 2 (set 5-8 and Palace Heist)).
